Communicating Conflict and Consent Mediations, Representations and Audiences An international conference in honor of Prof. Tamar Liebes Wednesday, January 9, 2013 Truman Institute, Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Almost 50 years after the founding of communication studies in Israel, hundreds of scholars are engaged in this ever vibrant and developing intellectual discipline. Prof Tamar Liebes was one of its pioneers. Following years as producer and editor on Israel's Public Radio, Prof. Liebes crossed the border, bridging between media practice and theory. The international conference we have planned will track Prof. Liebes essential contributions. The conference will host both media theorists and practitioners who will discuss the concept of audiences in the past, present and future, the state of public broadcasting in the 21st century, and the changing media coverage of war and terror. All proceedings will be in English click the links to listen Greetings
